Sour Cream Container=Jewelry Box

My daughter LOVES play jewelry. SO, I turned this empty sour cream container into a fun little play jewelry container for her (another Christmas present).

Here's how it turned out:

----
Here's pictures to show what I did:

First I spray painted the sour cream container:

Add Scrapbook paper with Mod Podge to the bottom container

Decorated the lid the same way

Hot glue fabric to the inside of the container (this was optional---I had some on hand so I used it, if I didn't, I wouldn't have added it)
*Push the fabric in with your hand all the way to bottom of the container... The fabric should naturally make the pleat look (like in the first picture)
Tuck the extra fabric in so you don't see it and glue to the inside of the container.

I also added a scrap piece of black fabric to the bottom (again, optional)

I added scrapbook paper to the top rim for a cleaner look

Here it is again:

I think they're going to LOVE it!

Kid's lap desk-Easy Project AND Cheap!

My daughter loves to draw while sitting on the couch, (she grabs a book and puts it on her lap for her table).... I thought, "she needs a lap desk" (It's going to be one of her Christmas gifts).  :)

Instead of spending $20+ on one, I decided to make one.
Here's how it turned out:

My total cost was $1..... Only because I have tons of scrap fabric and extra ribbon...

Here's how I did it:

Bought this white board at Target for $1.00

(kid size)

Cut a piece of fabric to hang over the white board (1 in.) on each side.

Fold fabric edges in and hot glue 3 sides to white board (making a pocket)
(excuse the wrinkles)

Stuff with grocery bags.

Hot glue the last side to the white board

Flip over and leave as is OR decorate it with ribbon and buttons

I'm happy with how it came out, especially for $1.00. I love when I could use stuff from my stash.
